Food tastes nice when you add a little spice; pataka chicken recipe

Similar to kadhai chicken – A spicier version of it which is convenient to prepare tastes delicious and will please every palatte.
INGREDIENTS : ( 1 cup = 200 ml )
500 gm of small pieces of chicken (Boneless or Bone-in)
5 – 6 tsp of mustard oil
1 cup garlic paste
¼ cup of ginger
250 gm onion (chopped in small size)
80 gm of chopped tomato
¼ cup of chopped coriander leaf
4 piece of small bay leaf
4 – 6 pieces of long red chilli
¼ tsp of red chilli powder
2 tsp Cumin powder
2 tsp meat masala (prefer Everest meat masala for best results)
Salt – as per taste
Pataka Chicken Recipe –
Make sure the chicken is washed properly. Heat a pan (kadhai) and add 3-4 tsp oil & ¼ tsp salt in it. once the oil is heated, add the chicken in it and cover it with the lid of the pan for about 15 to 20 mins and let it fry on medium flame.
After 20 mins, the chicken starts to look whitish in colour. Take the chicken out in a bowl.
Take a fresh pan (kadhai) and heat it on medium flame. Now add 2-3 tsp of oil and let it heat. Add 4 chillies, 4 bay leaves and the chopped onion and fry till it turns light brown in colour. Add ginger-garlic paste to it and cook for 5 mins. After 5 mins add the chopped tomatoes and cook for another 5 mins. Add 2 tsp of cumin powder, ¼ tsp of chilli powder and salt as per taste.
Cook it for 15 – 20 mins till the oil separates.
After 20 mins add 2 tsp of meat masala, 1 cup water and mix the contents well. Cover it with a lid and let it fry for another 10 mins till the water evaporates.
Turn off the flame. Take the aromatic and delicious chicken in a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with tawa roti or Basmati rice as per choice.
